HOME >>>> Kameni Hora
"When someone sees this village for the first time , they have the impression that the lava is ready to "swallow" one of the most beautiful villages of Peloponnise. Strolling down the narrow streets of the village and talking to people one easily understands their warmth and hospitality'.
Dimitris Stathopoulos, "TA NEA", August 2008
Kameni Hora resembles a small nest of people protected by volcanic stone and the endless forest of pine and olive trees, with benches prevalent in the clearings which are cultivated to give us the precious fruits of our Earth.
Today, there are only nine families, whose main occupation is the cultivation of olive trees and vineyards. There is also a small flock of sheep with the sweet sound of bells to remind us of their presence.
The village square is our little church of St. John, and further west the chapel of St. Andrew.
From here the paths begin to the Volcano, Sterna Gambrou and Krasopanagia.
It isn't difficult to get here, however, it is difficult to leave ..
